What Is a Porcelain Crown?
Porcelain crowns are used when tooth's natural crowns are extremely damaged, when teeth are weakened due to previous extensive restorations, and when we rehabilitate worn-out teeth to bring back functionality and aesthetics.
- A porcelain crown is a substitution used to enhance tooth functionality and aesthetics.
- Porcelain crowns are an excellent part of a rehabilitation plan when we want to straighten your teeth and also when there is a tooth missing.
- Porcelain crowns are used when patients are undertaking rehabilitation on teeth missing on the top of the implant. In those cases, the result is a natural, beautiful smile and the contented patient who shares his most honest emotions with us at that moment.
Porcelain Crowns vs
Porcelain Veneers:
Which Tooth Crown Is Better?
Whether you will choose porcelain crowns or veneers depends solely on your goals, needs, and wishes and your dentist's goals. Both dental treatments are preferable but have different uses.
Porcelain Crowns
Porcelain crowns can be used to correct a large number of different aesthetic imperfections and deteriorations. Generally, crowns are a preferable option because they leave more natural tooth substance. Crowns are also used when there is lesser tooth structure or in cases when a tooth has a root canal.
Porcelain Veneers
Dental veneer is a thin cover which helps to achieve high aesthetics with minimal finishing of teeth substance. When a patient wants to enhance a shape and colour of his teeth we recommend porcelain veneers. Porcelain veneers are customized to match all the needs that a patient might have.

Your New Smile Journey
Day 1
Your journey to the perfect smile starts with the arrival to the capital of Croatia. When you arrive in Zagreb, we have ensured a transport to one of our apartments where you have free accommodation during your stay with us. Before coming to our clinic you will come to the apartment and have some time to relax.
When you come to our clinic we will do all the required diagnostics which includes CT as well as professional intraoral and professional photography.
Day 2
On the second day, you will see your new smile designed for you using digital technology. Your new smile is designed by our architects of a smile who have years of experience. The result is a 3D model of your new smile – mock-up which allows our dentists to transfer obtained design on your actual teeth. This is the special moment when you are presented with your new smile and we share first impressions and emotions.
When you come to the clinic on the second day, first we will make an initial video in our studio. After that, one of our architects of a smile will transfer the design from 3D printed model on your teeth and make another video in the studio.
While you are taking a well-earned rest for a couple of minutes, our experienced photographers will make a video of „New You“. At that moment you will experience an emotion of a new smile, new face and ultimately new personality that comes as a result of everything we have mentioned above. Once again, this is the moment when we acknowledge how happy we are.
Day 3
The third day of your stay is organised based on your plan of going back home. At this point you have become a member of our Digital Smile Academy community where you will spend many memorable moments.

In our clinic, we try to offer the best prices to our patients, and the final price differs from case to case. Every patient is approached individually; every therapy is planned especially for each person depending on their dental state, and that is why the total cost is different from patient to patient. Price of treatment includes the first free check-up, consultations with dentists and free of charge 3D CBTC which is the most advanced RTG diagnostics.
During the treatment, we offer free accommodation to our patients, which contributes to significant savings. We are significantly cheaper compared to other clinics around Croatia.
A patient receives temporary crowns between two dentist appointments so that the shaped part of the tooth is protected and the patient's appearance isn't ruined during the therapy.
If a patient has relatively new crowns and they are visible while patient talks, laughs or eats, he should think twice about whitening the crowns. Why? Because the colour of crowns can't be whitened. If we do the whitening treatment, we will probably change existing crowns because the colour of the crowns is determined by the colour of your teeth. If the existing crowns are lighter than the natural tooth then whitening is possible.
You can get braces with porcelain crowns.
Gold crowns are one of the types of classical crowns which are used in dentistry. There are two types of gold crowns: full gold crown which is entirely made of gold and gold alloys. Gold crowns are capable of withholding strong pressure of chewing but are not stronger than porcelain crowns.
